I love these trees! I used strips of Christmas wrapping paper because they were colorful and inexpensive. We also started with 12 strips on the bottom row. It filled up a 12 X 9 piece of construction paper perfectly. Thanks for the great ideas!

I have to share with you how much I love these paper chains! I teach 1st grade and we were able to make these chains on a larger scale (1"x12"). We made your Christmas tree and glued to 8 1/2 by 11" paper. They look superb! Thanks for sharing great directions.

Thanks for sharing Jimmie – I love your poster!! I'm still trying to find other ways of using the chain so if your kids come up with something brilliant, I'd love to know.

We did this craft! Photos are at Flickr. We used the 1" by 10" strips, and our tree was so huge we made a poster! :-)

Thank you so much. I have been coming to this site since September and never leave without inspiration. I am a volunteer "art" teacher for grades 1- 3 at a small private school. Your site has been so helpful. Tomorrow we tackle the trees and the plan is to add decorations.

I adore this tree. Simple but complete! And it's wonderful sometimes for kids to have a project they can complete quickly. I know I need some of those from time to time. Thanks for a great site!
