Chinese New Year Mural

The 2013 Chinese New Year is celebrated on February 10th, which is the year of the Snake. I made this paper-cut style mural to celebrate this holiday and learn more about the amazing Chinese art culture.

Did you use oil pastels?

Yes, this is with oil pastels. A lot of Chinese art is just red and white, but I added yellow to make it a little more colorful.

Hi, I just found your blog, it is wonderful. I produced some mural sheets from coloring page masterworks and it took a LONG time! Wish I'd seen this first. I love your endangered species mural. What if we wanted to do one that was just the big cats. Would you custom make a mural template from a photo collage for a fee?

Thanks for asking, but the murals take way too much time to do any custom orders. I love hearing what people are looking for though, so appreciate the info.
