I saw this idea in an old library book, and thought it was a really nice application of your basic crayon rubbing project.1. I started with a lettersize piece of chipboard, but any heavy paper would do. I drew my initials in block form, and cut them out of the heaviest paper I could find. Card stock works well to make a definite edge.
2. Glue the letters down with a glue stick.
3. Place a regular sheet of paper on top and rub away with one or more crayons. Rotating the direction of the rubbing helps to make all the edges really appear.
4. Write a nice old-fashioned letter to someone you care about. Thank you notes are always appreciated!

Such a fun idea and simple enough for kids to do with great results! We hope you don't mind, but we've included this activity in an upcoming post on fun things to do with your kids. We used your photo, gave a short description, credited you, and direct linked back to this post. If you prefer we remove it, we will. Thank you in advance for sharing!
That's fine, Learning Cooperative, as long as there is a link back. Hope you get some good results with it too.
I've just found your blog, and am looking forward to using some of your ideas this school year with my JK to Grade 3 students. We may make a set of this monogrammed paper for mother's day gifts this year!
