One More Turkey Drawing

I’ve found a lot of great drawing ideas over at www.fotosearch.com. If you ever get stuck for new ways of drawing common items, try searching their clip art to see what comes up.
1. I started by drawing my turkey on black paper with a pencil. If you want to see the steps, follow the project I have posted here and then add some more details and patterns to the feathers and body.
2. Trace all your pencil lines with a white Marvy Opaque Stix. The white is really fun to draw with as the line first seems clear, and then turns bright white after a few seconds.

I love this idea! A great way to teach pattern and texture and the white on black looks great!
With all my chalkboards I may have to draw a big one of these to greet my guests on Thanksgiving!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks for another inspiring piece. I have tried to source the Marvy Opaque Stix at our friends at Dick Blick but alas NO! Do you have any suggestions?

I'm trying to remember where I got the markers. They came in a pack of 6 or so. I only shop at Michael's, Staples, and sometimes Aaron Brothers so it has to be one of them. Hope that's a good enough lead for you...

Many thanks, I'm in the States soon and usually head to Michael's before I unpack my suitcase :) Saldy, I've never heard of Aaron Brothers, and we have Staples here in the UK so can do that tomorrow.

Hi Kathy,
I thought you might like to see the turkey chalkboard drawing that I greeted my guest with yesterday, for Thanksgiving! Thank you for the inspiration!

Even though this is not the first time I see a turkey on your blog, I think it is such a wonderful design.
Drawing on black paper is so cool!
