Gold metal tooling is great material for making textured art. Add Sharpie markers and you have a very expensive looking Mother’s Day card.
1. Each student gets a 3" x 5" piece of gold tooling, and place it on a few layers of newspaper. They draw firmly with a dull pencil to engrave the image.
2. Sharpie markers are used to color it in.
3. The final art may be mounted on a 6" x 9" folded card using double-sided tape. I recommend a quality card stock because this card is a keeper.

I LOVE THIS SITE SOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!! Thanks for all the GREAT ideas! You are saving me tons of hours a week in prep, thinking, everything! I am going to go an relax in the bath now, we are making the cats next week!
I remember doing something similar with cardboard and aluminum foil when I was a kid. You took a piece of cardboard, drew on it with glue and then stuck on a thick string of yarn. Then it was covered with aluminum foil - pressing down around the string so it was raised underneath. Color with Sharpies and it was an instant masterpiece! I had mine hanging on my bedroom wall until I moved out. :)
My friends and I really liked this article. It was very descriptive and worked out just like you said. Have you been to Wacanai.com(http://www.wacanai.com/intro). They have a bunch of articles on there. You can link your webpage to it so it drives traffic to your website to. They also give you a list of articles that have something in common with yours so you can get some new ideas.
Great site.
I am an elementary art teacher and started my own blog TODAY. It's still a work-in-progress as I learn how to set it up, but I'm anxious to get people to see it and comment, criticize, advise, etc. It's called There's a Dragon in My Art Room and you can find it at: http://plbrown.blogspot.com/
Please take a look!
Through Gold metal tooling ,I will make my mother a card wishing her Happy Mother's Day ,by my own hand
